District Device Buyback for Used Laptops, Chromebooks and Tablets

Retiring a device fleet? Schools, school districts and public agencies can sell used laptops, Chromebooks and tablets to Innovative Repair Solutions. We pick up across Long Island and the Tri-State area or accept ship-in, document every device by serial number, apply data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88, and refurbish and resell the equipment that can be reused.

How buyback works

A documented process from inventory to final disposition

  1. Send your inventory or request a quote

Send a device inventory or request a quote with models, quantities and condition.

  2. Pickup or ship-in

We pick up from schools, district offices and agency sites across Long Island and the Tri-State area, or you ship devices to our Amityville depot.

  3. Serialized intake and data sanitization

Each device is logged at intake, then goes through data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88, under a documented chain of custody.

  4. Refurbishment, resale and recycling

Reusable devices are refurbished and resold. Non-reusable units are recycled through vetted downstream recyclers.

Accountability and documentation

Records your auditors and board can rely on

Every buyback project is documented from pickup to final disposition, so you can show where each retired device went.

  • Documented chain of custody from pickup to final disposition
  • Serialized asset reporting: make, model, serial number, asset tag and disposition for each device, updated in real time
  • Data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88 (Clear, Purge, Destroy)
  • Per-device certificates of data destruction
  • Recycling of non-reusable units through vetted downstream recyclers, with certificates of recycling

How you receive value

Payment or credit, your choice

Payment

Value for eligible devices can be paid to your district or agency.

Credit toward repairs or refresh

Or apply the value as credit toward depot repair or your next device refresh, including new Dell, ASUS and Lenovo devices, which we supply as an authorized reseller.

Device value depends on models, condition and quantity, and is set out in each quote.

End-of-year refresh

Plan buyback around your end-of-year refresh

Many districts collect devices at the end of the school year and refresh their fleets over the summer. Contact us before collection so pickup, intake and data sanitization can be scheduled alongside your refresh and summer bulk repair.
